Open space design Student housing in Erlangen

Redesign of the outdoor facilities for 6 residential buildings for students on Erwin-Rommel-Straße in Erlangen. The design solution, which was awarded first prize in a realization competition together with the architects Karl Probst, envisages a loose development with approx. 400 student apartments within a wooded area on the edge of the existing Campus South. The area covered is approx. 2.8 ha and, in addition to the access and path areas, the recreational areas and the residential environment, also includes parts of a superordinate urban connection from Campus South to the city center. The rainwater from the houses and the open spaces is drained away on the site via infiltration channels. A flooding certificate was drawn up for the entire site. The entire site will be realized in 3 stages.
