Marketplace, Alsbach-Hähnlein

The marketplace in Hähnlein is a project that contributes to social networking and development in rural areas.

A model and the wishes outlined there for a square with more greenery, play areas and water emerged from a public participation process. On this basis, we developed a concept that incorporates the existing buildings and pedestrian connections and enhances the entire district:

Parking spaces were eliminated, new insect-friendly trees and shrub beds as well as green spaces were created, which have a positive climatic effect; a fountain contributes to cooling the microclimate.
