Rems-Murr Clinics Winnenden

The "Clinics in the Park" concept by architects Hascher and Jehle aims to harmoniously integrate the nursing pavilion structures and the new health center buildings into the extended clinic park. The building structure interlocks with the landscape and creates attractive green spaces for patients and visitors to enjoy.



The pavilions of the new building (buildings A, B, C, D) are grouped around a spacious square ("Piazza") and thus form an urban unit. The square provides access to the buildings located there, in particular the main entrance to House A.



The square area of the "Piazza" is designed as a uniform material surface. In the center of the "Piazza" there is a representative garden space with a pleasant atmosphere. Flowering shrubs, herbaceous perennials and grass beds define the garden, spanned by a sparse grove of ornamental cherry trees. Multifunctional wooden seating elements invite you to linger.



The adjacent "patient garden" to the east and south is designed as a near-natural landscape garden for walks and contemplative relaxation with gently modeled meadow slopes with a slight incline to the existing wooded area along the Zipfelbach stream. Freely arranged groups of trees alternate with open meadow spaces. The meadow will be developed as a site-appropriate, rich meadow with grasses and wild herbs and maintained extensively.



As a compensatory measure for the encroachment of the new building, the western edge of the stream will be renaturalized, and small recreational opportunities will make the stream an experience for residents and patients.



The two existing ponds will be preserved. The surrounding area will be left virtually untouched as a near-natural succession area and will therefore remain a long-term buffer between the ponds and the patient garden.



A simple network of water-bound paths opens up the meadow area from north to south.



The existing ditch will be developed into a near-natural stream with a bank edge.



The cafeteria on the ground floor of House A will have a southwest-facing terrace in front of it.




Green garden courtyards illuminate the health center. They allow for "green breaks" and draw the eye to quiet, contemplative garden scenes.



The roof areas are extensively greened. Small terraces offer outdoor space for patients and staff and open up views of the surrounding landscape
