Planning of the district square at the new cultural center and family center Hainholz, the public park with intergenerational play and sports facilities and the adjacent entrance area of the natural swimming pool Hainholz.
"Socially Integrative City 2014" award from the Federal Association for Housing and Urban Development
Green center Hainholz . Park of the generations
Structure
The planning area is divided into two main, interconnected areas with differentiated open space qualities. The entrance to the south is formed by the green, tree-lined district square with the entrance areas of the cultural center and the new family center on Voltmerstraße
.
To the north of the building ensemble, Hainhölzer Park forms the open space link between Hainhölzer Markt, Hainhölzer Bad and the open spaces of the cultural and family center as a wide, sculpted meadow landscape.
Transparency
The highly divisive, unkempt structures (shrubs, mature hedges, fences) that act as barriers and areas of fear are thinned out and removed. Openness and transparency are created.
Green center
The defining element of the green center is the existing, tree-lined lawn, which in its new, strong form forms the green center of the square, which is equally accessible from all sides. The existing path axis is taken up and leads through the arches of the cultural center into the park and to the Hainhölzer Bad. To the west, the difference in height to Voltmerstrasse is absorbed by a staircase running down the slope of the square, which also defines the entrance to the family center. The necessary parking spaces are located on the eastern edge of the square behind the former janitor's building and the small, open garden area.
Hainhölzer Park
The spacious, sculpted meadow areas form an animated landscape with tobogganing and lawn mounds, which also shield the access road to Hainhölzer Bad from the park. The result is a park space that can be used and experienced in a variety of ways. The existing trees will be preserved and supplemented at the edges of the park.
Connections and paths
Two different path systems connect the adjacent areas. Two path axes lead from the town square into the park - the main axis directly to the Hainhölzer Bad. Between the cultural and family center, another path connects the district square to Hainhölzer Park via the playing fields. Between the allotment gardens in the west and the Hainhölzer Markt in the east, the Julius-Trip-Ring winds its way through the hilly landscape and is complemented by further curved paths.
Playing fields
Between the cultural and family center are the differentiated playing fields. Play areas that can be used in a variety of ways form a colorful ribbon that extends from the green center into the Hainhölzer Park. Play and activity options for all generations are located side by side here and are developed in detail with the participation of the various user groups. The outdoor area of the cultural center can be separated from the play strip by a hedge.
