Jury verdict: Together with the building, an upward-swinging ramp encloses the outdoor area of the kindergarten. The old tree population ensures the necessary light shade over the inner courtyard, which is otherwise sensibly and attractively structured with a large sandy and clear lawn area.

In contrast, the ramp system, which has been worked through with great sculptural strength, is impressively memorable, representing access, weather protection, play equipment and a memorable landmark at the same time.

The authors have thus succeeded in creating a memorable and inviting place by concentrating on a few, but powerfully placed elements.
