The outdoor facilities of the elementary school 'Am Regenstein' were completely demolished, as were the school buildings. In the context of the building redesign, a changed arrangement of the new building structure resulted with regard to the terrain height and thus the necessity to integrate the building into the existing site.

The development area via the main entrance is functionally predominantly characterized by the arrival and pick-up of the students and is accessible from the north (Karl-Zerbst-Strasse) via

a wide paved path. This access continues in constant width as a band in front of the building, which as part of the
schoolyard represents a transition to the sloping play level of the schoolyard.

The play level rises continuously from the pathway band in front as a paved and lawn area in the direction of the eastern property boundary and contains
as well as a sand play area further selective play offers for movement games and as places to stay. The arrangement of the benches and seating cubes, parallel to the school building
and one behind the other in the sloping area, allows them to be used on the one hand as a recreation area during break and after-school hours and on the other hand as a `stand' or auditorium for school events.

The school garden is located to the west of the new school building. Through the new construction of the outdoor facilities, the school garden receives its structure with main paths in water-bound cover, bed borders made of lawn edging stones and a planting of berry bushes as well as some fruit trees. This basic structure will be developed by the pupils in the course of use through their own beds and plantings.

There are 3 benches available for outdoor lessons. The school garden utensils can be stored in a section of the outdoor storage area, which separates the school garden from the parking areas.
