In collaboration with TOPOS Stadtplanung Landschaftsplanung Stadtforschung, gruppe F developed the strategic framework concept for the area of the Großer Tiergarten. The focus was on linking the park with its urban surroundings. A concept was developed that reverses the previously rather divisive effect of the Großer Tiergarten and highlights the garden monument as a starting point for strengthening the entire urban space and as the interface between City East and City West. The concept development was accompanied by an intensive communication process. In several 'Tiergarten Dialogues', interested parties were given the opportunity to inform themselves about the goals and contents of the planning and to contribute their own ideas. Four guidelines for the Grüne Mitte formed the conceptual framework. A wide range of measures and concept modules were developed to implement the goals. These serve as a basis for further deepening and constructional as well as organisational projects in the planning area.
