The Wennfelder Garten construction project is part of the new "Wennfelder Garten" urban quarter on the southern outskirts of Tübingen, adjacent to the "Französisches Viertel". A total of 13 multi-family houses are being built there by GWG (Gesellschaft für Wohnungs- und Gewerbebau) and GSW (Gesellschaft für Siedlungs- und Wohnungsbau Baden-Württemberg, Sigmaringen) in five construction phases over the next 10 years.
The first construction phase of the new urban quarter is formed by the houses 9/11/13/15/17 by GWG.
Due to the existing topography and the elevation of the buildings, the site cuts into the hillside to the east, creating a meadow slope with a gradient of up to 1:1.5. A variety of hedgerow bars have been planted as part of an ecological compensation planting scheme. The open spaces of the buildings include private terraces and green areas, access roads to the underground car park, fire brigade access roads, the entrances to the buildings, and small play areas. The majority of these are located above the underground car park. The topography creates height differences in the access areas of the buildings.
