Art and recreation space above the Petuel Tunnel - the Petuelpark. Below the traffic rolls, above you walk in the green and enjoy art.

Since July 2002, traffic has been moving through the Petuel Tunnel. On the area above the tunnel a new park was created - the Petuelpark. It represents the gap between the two districts of Milbertshofen and Schwabing, which have long been separated by a traffic lane.

The Petuelpark offers many things: a picnic on the meadow, a stroll along the promenades or enjoying art - a green oasis instead of noise and exhaust fumes, and all this on an area of around 7.4 hectares. Three squares in the park invite young and old to linger, play, experience and rest.
The children will certainly not be bored - a water playground and various children's playgrounds offer enough variety. The world of gardens opens up in front of the leafy tunnel south wall with various themed gardens along the redesigned Nymphenburg-Biedersteiner Canal.

The Petuelpark is not only a space for leisure and recreation. It is also an art space. Thirteen works of art are discreetly placed in the park - sometimes almost hidden, they surprisingly enter the visitors' field of vision.
Since June 2005, the Petuelpark art and culture project has been complete with the opening of the café, fountain square and generation garden.
