Entrée Square on Sedan Street Osnabrück

As part of the conversion of the former Scharnhorst barracks, a modern quarter is being created with a science and residential park and high-quality open spaces. The extensive, landscaped character of the barracks area will be transformed into the square area in terms of landscape architecture. Existing "lawn clods" with the trees standing on them will be preserved and partly bordered with seating edges. These bordered landscape elements on the square invite to linger.

As part of the conversion of the former Scharnhorst barracks, a modern quarter is being created with a science and residential park and high-quality open spaces. The overall concept for the open spaces of the Scharnhorstkaserne residential and science park envisages preserving the barracks wall, parts of the entrance gates, existing natural stone material and the existing trees as reminiscences of the former use as far as possible and integrating them into the redesign of the open spaces. The existing wall made of natural stone will be renovated and opened up at certain points. The square on Sedanstrasse serves as an entrance area to the new district and as a forecourt for the adjacent commercial development.
