The outdoor pool on Obernfelder Allee is located in the south-west of the town of Lübbecke and is surrounded by residential buildings and development areas, sports facilities and open farmland. To the south, there is a restaurant/hotel and, a little further on, a hospital in the transition to the adjacent forest. The open-air swimming pool, built in 1953, was closed in 2002, the buildings were placed under a preservation order and the facilities fell into disrepair.

- The paddling pool was turned into a water and sand play area and supplemented with lots of play equipment

- A circular path was created around it with offers for different age groups and activities; play and exercise offers for a large category A play area with offers for different age groups and also for citizens with restricted mobility were realized. There are fitness and pub facilities

- the grassy areas under the trees are well used on hot days

- the changing rooms were not part of the planning
