In 2009 - after 25 years of successful business activity - the "Planungsbüro Prof. Dr. Jörg Schaller" was transferred to the newly founded company "Prof. Schaller UmweltConsult GmbH". The managing partner is Prof. Jörg Schaller with SSF Ingenieure AG as a partner in the company. Also since 2009, Dr. Johannes Gnädinger has contributed his office LAB Dr. Gnädinger to PSU and assumed the role of Managing Director. The commercial managing director is Dipl.-Ing. Johannes Frühauf.

Together with the other partners in the SSF Group, clients can now be offered new integrated services in infrastructure, structural engineering, environmental and open space planning.
The development of an environmentally friendly society requires a high level of knowledge and skills and, above all, a constant willingness to learn and change. In our work for the landscape and environment, we are caught between the conflicting priorities of protecting and shaping the natural foundations of life on the one hand and the pressure on these foundations due to ever-increasing structural development and land use on the other. We are confronted on a daily basis with the demands and plans of our mobile meritocracy with regard to space and the environment. Together with our clients and all those involved, we are called upon to look for solutions that gradually reduce the impact on the environment and lead to a sustainable economy in the long term.

The methods of landscape planning and landscape architecture, once learned and proven many times over, are our essential foundation. Today, however, the major issues of the future are forcing us to further develop our approach and our methods. Topics include: the enormous need to improve the protection of biodiversity, the consistent conservation of resources and land, slowing down climate change while adapting to unavoidable climate change and taking the demand for greater social participation seriously.

We see digital tools as a valuable aid for interdisciplinary work on environmentally friendly solutions. We are therefore particularly committed to the development of integrated 2D and 3D applications with geographic information systems (GIS), including in connection with building information modeling (BIM). We see this as a significant opportunity for closer coordination, cooperation and communication between all parties involved, for the real benefit of people and the environment.
