Open spaces require a broad forum in order to receive appropriate appreciation and care by society. This applies in particular to historic parks, which must legitimize themselves qua law via the public interest, but also to contemporary gardens and grounds.
The unique and irretrievable garden monument as an authentic testimony to our own history, as well as contemporary open spaces as an expression of today's garden art, are the focus of all freiraumforum planning and measures.
Contemporary design, restoration and care appropriate to the monument, a use tailored to the site, the association to networks, the involvement of civic engagement and the dissemination of information via various communication media are appropriate measures for the preservation and development of the garden cultural places and open spaces.
freiraumforum brings together these different approaches in the service spectrum of landscape architecture and open space marketing and provides a forum for networking the various players.
Innovation is seen as the engine of sustainable protection of traditional values. Appropriate marketing as well as economic operation of open spaces need not be contradictory to the preservation of garden cultural values and are seen as important strategies for sustainable safeguarding.
