City, architecture and open space are systemically and spatially interrelated, as a sequence of interacting artificial and natural spatial sequences. In our work, we are in search of the landscape in architecture, the natural in the urban context and the experience of the artistic in nature. This relationship between architecture and open space generates tangible, diverse urban spaces. The aim is to sensitize users to their context, to make it possible to experience sensually and temporally situated space. The result is adaptable, adaptable and diverse open spaces that evolve with the life and change of the city and society and move beyond the everyday. The program is not unwound but assigned, subordinated and integrated into a clear spatial structure. The focus is on the search for people, longing and surprise. Our design research questions the classic relationship between nature and city, open space and built space. We work on urban and rural places that base their spatial and atmospheric qualities on precisely these opposites. Questions about future urban and landscape development under the aspects of social and climatic change form the basis of all considerations.

GM013 Landscape Architecture was founded by Paul Giencke and Marco Mattelig in Berlin Kreuzberg in 2013. Paul Giencke has been running the office alone since 2019. GM013 deals with all classic areas of landscape architecture in public and private spaces, in national and international projects and competitions.
