During the redesign of the outdoor facilities of the office-publishing building in Göttingen, a representative outdoor space was created against the backdrop of the restored Art Nouveau villa, which combines valuable historical garden elements with a modern and expressive open space design.
The design unites aesthetic-creative aspects with a functional demand on the open space as a business card for the company and high-quality outdoor space for the employees. In particular, the square-like situations are to be emphasized, which, in addition to the everyday use by the employees, also offer space for smaller receptions and celebrations. The specially designed pavilion and the pergola made of modern stainless steel materials are special elements here.
Overall, a balanced and expressive choice of materials characterizes the design. Historic-looking materials such as natural stone, marble and dark clinker are combined with the functional, modern elegance of structuring concrete elements. Carefully coordinated lighting and planting, which includes rhododendrons, azaleas and roses in keeping with the historic garden design, complete the design. The outdoor facilities and the architecture of the building then form a harmonious whole.
