An essential component for upgrading the residential location of Hohenstücken is the creation of a central residential area park. The park, designed as a promenade, extends along the tramway track. Along this promenade, the park widens out at several points, which are intensively landscaped. The southern part of the park, characterized by its moving topography, the "moving pieces" offer opportunities to linger and play and a path connection to the residential quarters south of Rosa-Luxemburg-Strasse.

In its formal language, the neighbourhood park reacts to the dominant cubic forms of the complex housing development with its predominantly 5-storey buildings and creates both a counterweight to the development and a supplement through large and striking circular forms.
The route of the tram running along the eastern side of the Tschirchdamm is tangential to or runs through all sub-areas of the residential park, including the 'moving pieces', and thus represents the backbone, which is underlined by the tree planting on both sides, consisting of narrow-crowned elms.

Parallel to the route, a wide path on the eastern side invites visitors to promenade. The elongated area, located between Tschirchdamm and Friedrich-Grasow-Str., is characterized by lawn cones of varying height and extent. The topography of the area creates an exciting sequence of spaces. Wooded and grassy areas as well as trees, which become denser in a southerly direction, structure this area and, together with the ground modelling and the rows of trees along the tram line, form an appropriate spatial conclusion to Rosa-Luxemburg-Allee. The promenade path accompanying the tram line swings towards the east and forms the main path of the park.

The network of paths is supplemented by connections to Friedrich-Grasow-Straße, across the tracks to Tschirchdamm, and Rosa-Luxemburg-Allee. Seating and resting places are mainly located near the large action area crossed by the main path and along the path. Beside the playground and the action area the swing standing on a hilltop and wobbling sheep invite to play.

When selecting the trees and woody plants, special attention was paid to the ornamental value also in autumn and winter besides the site suitability (lean sandy soils, windbreaks). Thus, woody plants were selected that are characterized by long-lasting foliage, a special bark, an intense autumn color or rich fruit ornamentation.
