The Emscher Genossenschaft planned the construction of a new youth center in Oberhausen-Holten.

The outdoor facilities were developed by the landscape architecture firm wbp, Elger Blitz from Holland and the artist Apolonija Susetric.

The outdoor facilities also include a 600 m² skate park.

We were commissioned by the Emscher Genossenschaft with the detailed planning, tendering and construction management. Construction of the park is due to start in spring 2013.

Our concept is characterized by universally popular street benches with ledge, connection to a quarter and adjacent stairs with rail. All this as an entrance and access to a classic kidney bowl. And there will also be the obligatory, important curbs down in the street area. Perfect versatile conditions for biking and skating!

The new construction of the Holten youth club was awarded the "Award for Good Buildings 2014 by the BDA Rechter Niederrhein".

The awards for good buildings are presented every four years. The group hopes that this will encourage critical debate and public discussion about the built environment in the region.
