Bodenheim cemetery

The existing cemetery in Bodenheim was extended to an area of 9,500 m². Enviro-Plan designed the cemetery extension as a high-quality open space with a high quality of space and amenity.



In particular, the current developments and trends in the burial sector had to be taken into account and integrated. In addition to normal burial graves and urn graves, special forms of urn burial were also developed or provided for, such as the path of remembrance, a semi-anonymous area with tree graves and lawn graves as well as a columbaria wall. These different types of graves were combined to create a well-rounded overall concept.



The new cemetery area was transformed in a needs-based, sustainable and visitor-friendly way. The areas were laid out and designed to create a pleasant and friendly atmosphere for mourners, so that the cemetery is not only a place of mourning, but also a place of solace. The modern cemetery extension also offers the opportunity to linger and communicate as a recreational space.



The mixture of cemetery and park-like grounds was very well received by the local population.
