As part of the redevelopment of the southern inner city of Tübingen, the so-called Zinser Dreieck with the streets Friedrich-, Karl- and Poststraße up to Europaplatz is getting a new look. With the participation of residents, business people, politicians and administrators, a design is being created that will breathe a new spirit into the quarter. Functionality and traffic meet sophistication, creativity and modernity. These opposites, united in one design, distinguish the Zinser Dreieck and give it its unmistakable character in Tübingen's cityscape.

DESIGN CONCEPT
The design concept envisages a differentiated design of the three junctions, which are mediated by the design of the connecting streets. The intersection Friedrichstraße/Karlstraße/Trautweineck is characterized by rather homogeneously designed surfaces with dark lanes and side spaces, the intersections Friedrich-/Poststraße and Karl-/Poststraße by contrasting surfaces with dark lanes and light side spaces. The connection of the differently colored side spaces is made by a concrete pavement with a brightness gradient from light to dark and vice versa.

The existing larger trees in the area of the junctions will be retained. To structure the street spaces, small to medium-sized trees will be planted in a loose arrangement. The lighting concept provides in the area of Friedrich- and Karlstraße a lighting with surge lamps, the lighting of the intersections is done with pole lights. In the southern Karlstraße and in the area of the Friedrichstraße/Karlstraße junction, the quality of stay will be increased by seating elements in various sizes.
