The landscape therapy park in Brilon emphasizes the contrast between the open, gentle meadow valley and the steep, wooded forest slopes. The meadow valley with its beautiful trees, fragrant flower meadows and hilly pastures is generously open. Important visual axes to the town, the provost church, the limestone hilltops in the distance and up to the former ski jump have been carved out.

Along a circular route - the landscape-therapeutic path - with the spa park as the starting point and destination, 13 stations are lined up, staging moods such as clarity, overview, openness, harmony, confusion, mindfulness, contemplation, transparency and sublimity. Recurring elements such as the comfortable benches, the red color and the explanatory signage integrate the stations into the overall context of the extensive landscape-therapeutic park.

Spa park

The redesigned spa park with the newly integrated "Haus des Gastes" forms the attractive center of the "Brilon Forest Kingdom". A small square with benches offers a view over the ponds to the silhouette of the old town. On the "Seeterrasse", steps on the shore allow direct contact with the water. To the south, the spa park is characterized by the forest framing the valley and the wide meadows that replace the lawns.

Forest park

The forest provides an introverted counterpoint to the open meadows. Here you can discover astonishing things, track down mysteries, enjoy peace and quiet, explore sounds and scents, feel the alternation of light and shade.

The "landscape window" at the park entrance is the start of the landscape therapy trail.

The "Grottensteg" leads along existing

caves and rock formations. On the way up, you come across the "Fairy Sound", a sound installation in the trees that alludes to the forest fairy of Brilon. On a grass-covered hilltop, you will discover the "Hochsitze". The former ski jump has been cleared of the overgrown greenery. It offers a breathtaking view of the distance and the depths. A swing provides a little thrill on the slope.

The bottom of the Möhne spring has been renaturalized as a layered spring - an atmospherically attractive place. On the eastern side of the slope, a "path spider" causes confusion. High above the path, a "fairy wreath" shimmers red in the diffuse light of the high forest. On the "Dichterlichtung" (poet's glade), a ring of wood frames a retreat for reading and reading aloud. At the light edge of the forest, hammocks invite you to put your tired legs up.
