In the course of the new construction of the Regierungspräsidium in Freiburg (architects: Harter und Kanzler, Freiburg), the design of the outdoor facilities placed particular emphasis on the design of the inner courtyard, to which numerous functions are assigned. The centre of the courtyard is formed by a water surface fed by rainwater, above which a wooden platform floats and on which three umbrellas float as sculptures by the Freiburg artist Stephan Hasslinger, as if blown there by the wind.
