The Friedensschule is located in Frankfurt's Altberesinchen district south of the city centre between Leipziger, Heinrich-Hildebrand and Robert-Havemann-Strasse. The two-storey, listed clinker brick building of the Luther School, which was built in 1904-1906, with an adjoining school gymnasium and the neighbouring day nursery "Coole Kiste" are accessed from Leipziger Straße via Darwinstraße.

The Friedensschule has been an all-day school in open form since August 2006. In order to provide the children with a wide range of activities and exercise, it was necessary to create a variety of usable sports, play and rest areas in the open space. The original division of the school grounds into the areas of school garden, northern and southern playground, driveway and sports area in the south was fundamentally retained in the planning.
The school garden was supplemented by a "green classroom" of seating beams after partial removal of the driveway paved with concrete block paving. The surrounding lawn areas are given privacy planting to the outside and are otherwise developed into a scattered fruit meadow with the occasional planting of fruit trees.

A basketball court was integrated into the northern recess yard. In the southern playground, the slope was set back and formed as a 3-meter-high climbing wall. The play and climbing area starting here consists of several levels. For the sports field in the south of the site, a circular running track with integrated long jump approach, 60 m sprint track and playing field was created.
