Wiesionen, a project for a new community between the city of Lörrach and its river Wiese.
The so-called "Wiesestrand" is another building block to create places directly on the river for local recreation. By the leitmotif "constant drop" the draft forms a formative leisure area.
The prelude to the Wiesestrand mark in each case the objects "drop" and the solar-powered water column "Blubb".
The embankment of the flood embankment was recessed and remodeled. 57 concrete elements were produced by a social project using a modular system and inserted into the topography as urban interventions. This resulted in benches, seating steps, theatres and spacious podiums with barbecue areas for lingering directly on the river bank. Gentle hydraulic engineering methods" are used to direct the flow in the river so that a variety of new habitats for fish and other aquatic life can develop. Sturgeon stones enable structural diversity in the river bed. At low water they serve as a natural ford between the two banks. The Wiesestrand thus connects the city of Lörrach with the river and offers citizens a new place to experience nature in their leisure time.
