Artificial turf renovation in Schwalbach

After approx. 15 years of intensive use, one of two synthetic turf playing fields at the Schwalbach sports facility was worn down to the back of the turf carpet and in one goal area to the elastic layer. There was therefore no alternative to renewing the turf carpet.
After detailed investigations of the existing situation and intensive discussions with the clubs using the turf and the town council, a catalogue of the desired characteristics of the new synthetic turf was drawn up. Numerous bids were received with the subsequent invitation to tender. Since secondary offers were also permitted, we also received offers for synthetic turf filled with cork.
After detailed examination and intensive consideration with and within the city administration, the decision was made for one of the offers with cork filling.
Despite tight timeframes and unexpected problems with the elastic layer, the measure was almost completed within the specified timeframe.
