Together with the Bauverein der Elbgemeinden and the Altonaer Spar- und Bauverein, the Authority for Urban Development and Housing offered a competition for ideas for the design of the open spaces of the planned building block 4 in the new city quarter Neue Mitte Altona, which we were able to win.
The design concept provides for a clear spatial formation for the zoning and distribution of use of the open spaces. Pedestals of different heights, paths that intertwine with the adjoining areas and gentle grassy hills play with the given jumps in height and, as a whole, create a varied and exciting spatial image that offers cross-generational play and rest zones.
