Accompanying the preliminary planning for upgrading measures in Südpark München by the office Lynen & Dittmar Landschaftsarchitekten + Stadtplaner, a two-stage public and youth participation took place from July 2017 to March 2018.

First, we organised a two-day workshop in summer 2017 with 20 young people from the youth meeting place Treibhaus. We collected impressions and answers to the questions 'what do you like here / what don't you like here?' in the park and then developed ideas for play areas in group work.

At a subsequent all-day information day in Südpark, we were able to involve the entire interested population. The citizens were informed about the Südpark on display boards and gave
and gave answers to numerous prepared questions, which we collected on display boards. All in all, discussions were held with about 210 citizens with numerous ideas and suggestions. The results served as the basis for the landscape architects' planning.

In winter 2018, we presented the preliminary planning with the landscape architects at the youth centre and in the park. The young people and interested members of the public were able to look at the plans to see how their ideas and suggestions were implemented in the planning. During the subsequent discussions we moderated with the planners and the client representatives, the young people and all other park users confirmed the successful planning implementation of the ideas. We collected all further hints and suggestions from the circle of users and handed them over to the landscape architect for further consideration and weighing up in the planning.

Participants:
20 young people from the Treibhaus youth centre
Approx. 250 interested citizens and park users from the area around Südpark in Munich
Numerous members of the surrounding district committees
