The aim of the comparison of variants was the redevelopment of the former outdoor swimming pool area around the indoor swimming pool "Wellenspiel" in Meißen. The currently derelict site was to be developed for year-round use with outdoor swimming pools, play and sports facilities and tourist infrastructure as an attractive destination for excursions and local recreation.

In the design, the site was rearranged functionally, design-wise and spatially, whereby four areas with different focal points were created with the help of path relationships, plantings and terrain design.

Subarea 1 is designed as an extension of the wave play and outdoor pool area, which can be used in summer. Equipment elements include sunbathing lawns, play areas, baby pool, beach volleyball court and table tennis. In demarcation to the other sub-areas, a barrier-free cash desk area including a kiosk is planned.

Adjoining the ticket office area is sub-area 2, which is located as a central square in the historic main pool. With decorative beds and sightlines, it forms a hub in the grounds and a meeting place for everyone. The year-round use is to be secured by a stage and a temporary skating rink.

The third subarea contains tourist facilities and nature experience educational elements. It consists of a tent meadow, a caravan site, a yurt ensemble as a nature experience camp and holiday log cabins with sun terraces. Integrated are pedagogically designed water and material cycles, photovoltaic systems, small wind turbines and composting sites.

The fourth and last subarea is located in the transition area to the settlement and serves as a fitness area with robust outdoor equipment and adventure playground.
