TRAINING CENTRE ELECTRICITY GRID HAMBURG An inner courtyard as a recreation area and communication hub

The campus of the highly modern and sustainably designed training centre of Stromnetz Hamburg GmbH was designed as a lounge area and communication hub. The heart is formed by the polygonal green spaces, which ensure that the campus is enlivened. The clever combination of simple elements creates a calm, representative character.

Three planting islands and one lawn island of a total size of 980 m² were realized. For the seating on the walls, wooden supports were integrated into the courses of the green demarcation, sometimes free-standing, sometimes sitting on the wall. Light bands, integrated in the drainage channels, illuminate the main paths in combination with 4 m high light columns. A 15 m² pavilion offers additional quality of stay.

Generous folds in the upstands of the planting islands and the topography create dynamic areas to stay, which on the whole create a calm, representative character.
