Secondary school Bad Gottleuba New construction of sports facilities

Components of the new school sports facility include a 100 m running track with two lanes, a long jump facility with two run-up lanes and a shot put facility. These elements fit into the terraced terrain and can therefore be used simultaneously.

The challenge here was the highly undulating terrain and the premise of minimizing earth movement.

The flatter slopes are secured with trees and shrubs, while the rest are reinforced using ground covers and erosion control mats, sometimes combined with retaining walls.

The former school garden shed will be used as a storage area for mobile sports equipment in future and will be connected to the starting area of the running track, long jump and shot put facility via a rustic, near-natural gravel path and wooden steps.

When arranging the sports facilities, care was taken to preserve the trees and shrubs as far as possible.
