The city of Velbert had the school buildings of the Geschwister-Scholl-Gymnasium renovated for energy efficiency. In addition, the school received a canteen for all-day operation. To round off the measures and make the school fit for the future, the schoolyards were renovated.
The focus was on improved usability for all students.
Pupils and staff were intensively involved in the brainstorming process so that a high level of identification for the structural implementation was achieved. The wishes were realised through age-appropriate design, with projecting steps at the refectory and elliptical multifunctional seating and movement options.
