Sportpark Mitte, Datteln

The "Sportpark Mitte" in Datteln's Hagem district provides a wide range of small playing fields, street workout elements, elements for the calisthenics scene, a skate park, a roller/ice rink, parcour elements, a children's playground and beach volleyball areas, which are available for families as well as for amateur athletes and sports clubs.
Because of the adjacent Realschule Datteln to the west and the Comenius Gymnasium to the east, as well as other primary and secondary schools in the vicinity, use by school sports is also planned. The renaturation of the Datteln millrace in the south and the adjoining east-west path connection were included in the sports park concept as an important landscape connection axis between the inner city and the western landscape area, as was the mature tree population of the site, which in earlier years served as an outdoor swimming pool lawn.
