Living in the countryside and at the same time in a mixed urban district - is that possible? We think so, with a design concept based on a dual strategy: The green corridor along the Laacher Graben is designed as a park and set in direct relation to the greenery of the residential courtyards of the quarter, which open up to the park like a fan. On their northern side, the residential ensembles border and enclose a lively urban open space, which is designed as a park and represents the car-free core of the mixed-use urban quarter.

The competition jury particularly praised the fact that the emphasis on the solitary urban villas on the south side of the building plots meaningfully defines the transition between the inner courtyards of the residential blocks and the public park. In addition, the generous open spaces are used "to link the new development area with the surrounding area in terms of open space". The location of the school and daycare center will now be discussed and determined with the city in the further process. The mobility concept will also be developed further.
