The new building of Goldbeck Regionalgesellschaft Nordost presents itself as a bright, light-flooded cube. The clearly visible landmark directly on the highway 14 in Leipzig stands for the quality of the building by seemingly raising it on a landscape architectural base. Employees and guests reach the building via a spacious forecourt, which serves as a welcome area. The view falls onto generous pools of water, the banks of which are designed as a curved staircase. Three circular raised beds with large amber trees structure the forecourt and create an architectural relief of white precast concrete elements of the highest surface quality.

Rainfall on roof surfaces is cleaned and infiltrated via shallow, greened troughs. A purification pond filters and biologically revitalizes the water basin. This "water garden" is lushly planted with perennials and grasses and offers beautiful views all year round from the directly adjacent terrace. The areas of land between the building and the highway may not be built on due to B-Plan regulations. These areas contain a cascaded system of shallow, planted troughs through which the rainwater from the traffic areas is pre-cleaned, seeped away and only in extreme cases is it throttled and discharged into a natural receiving watercourse. The retention basin is designed to absorb runoff from future extensions.
