New extension to the sports halls at Weilheim secondary school Climate-friendly conversion and promoting diversity

Planning of the outdoor facilities for the new replacement building for two existing sports halls at Weilheim secondary school. In the outdoor facilities, we combine the requirements of the users (school entrance, bicycle parking facility, car parking spaces, bus stop recreation area) with the goals of building in a climate-friendly and diversity-promoting manner. The rainwater is routed to the trees and planting areas on the surface and the tree locations are connected underground. In particular, the high number of trees planted and the green roofs and façades provide a cooling effect through shade and evaporation. For the trees, grasses and perennials, we have chosen a high diversity of climate-resilient species. The aim is to achieve high sustainability effects with this small supplementary measure. The start of use is planned for the beginning of 2026.
