The simple house is set in a formally designed garden, which implements the user couple's wish for a lush green garden without a lawn.

A woven clinker path grid now encloses hedge and perennial fields, creating surprising vantage points and opening up for seating in the green carpet that projects the elevated position of the generous wooden terrace into the garden.
In individual grid fields, trees with special autumn colouring rise above the boxwoods and perennials. The bamboo towers above the existing walls enclosing the garden on the street side and denies views from the neighboring 7-story office building.
The northern exposure is compensated for by a "light catcher" that reflects the sun into the garden and conveniently made an unattractive garage back disappear right away: In an anthracite-colored frame, a gilded wall presents itself as a direct counterpart to the terrace with adjoining living-dining room. The gold leaf wall becomes a "picture" in the living space, constantly providing new views in interaction with the sunlight.
