The property is located in a wooded part of Prerow, not far from Prerow Stream and the Baltic Sea beach. The existing building is to be converted into nine apartments of a higher standard, including a catered breakfast area in the basement. To this end, the basement will be exposed in the course of the conversion in the northern part.
The changes in level are cushioned by retaining walls and planted terraces, which are also varied with benches and barbecues. In keeping with the forest and dune landscape typical of the region, the planting plan here focuses primarily on grasses, thistles and other sand-loving species, as well as ferns, blueberries and cranberries.
The garden has a variety of outdoor recreation areas that can be used by all vacation guests. The existing trees (Scots pine and oak) will be supplemented with more Scots pine and diversified with field maple and rowan. Two quince trees will also be planted.
The design concept is intended to show the client the open space potential of the property, as well as the potential and requirements for the subsequent project planning. In addition to the planting concept, solutions for rainwater drainage were also presented.
