Dialogue-based, process-oriented master plan for the 319 sq km north-eastern section of the region in the Swabian-Franconian Forest to promote the 'green infrastructure' in the Stuttgart Region Landscape Park. Development of a mission statement and definition of concrete projects whose implementation is supported by the Stuttgart Region.

Conception of a regional landscape park as an informal planning instrument at the level of the regional plan in the north-eastern part of the planning region. In the course of planning, a landscape development concept was formulated and concrete measures were derived in a master plan with intensive participation of the associated municipalities, authorities and associations. The planning participants developed lighthouse projects already during the planning process and are continuously implementing them. Due to the large area of the study area, the processing was carried out with a geographic information system. High demands were placed on the moderation of steering and expert rounds and documentation of a multi-stage coordination process with all participants.

Specially for the field of soft tourism, the landscape area of the Swabian-Franconian Forest in the north-east of the Stuttgart Region offers the best conditions. Thus, the cultural heritage of the Limes is to be staged through landscape design measures and the characteristic features of the landscape are to be brought together to form a recognisable network of open spaces, paths and attractions.
In doing so, the master plan creates the prerequisite for successfully walking the tightrope between preserving nature on the one hand and enhancing it through actions and stagings on the other.
