Picture worlds
A new office world is being created directly on the Rhine behind a listed façade. The open-air facilities allow visitors and employees to immerse themselves in a new and interesting world of images. This consists of two large thematic complexes: The Magistrale and the inner courtyards. The aim of our planning is to develop an identity of its own in addition to taking functionality into account. When looking at and entering this small independent world, new impressions, images and positive moods are created again and again. In the rhythm of the seasons, the open space first and foremost conveys tranquillity in the midst of the hectic everyday working life. The Magistrale connects the two office complexes with each other. The entrance areas are rolled out like a "red carpet". Inside and outside become one, despite the desired difference. The flanking steps elegantly overcome the difference in height and create different levels. The central zone is covered and structured by loosely interspersed giant bamboos. Seating areas here offer space for communication and serve for recreation. The structuring of the surface by means of bands takes up references from the architecture. The inner courtyards are colourful, cheerful picture worlds whose frame is the architecture. The materials used: plant, stone and steel are the same in all courtyards, but are used differently. This creates an individual, calm and dense atmosphere in each courtyard, the Rheinpark - Metropole receives significant inner images.
