Exterior construction of a new four-group children's house

Planning together
Such a complete work is the result of a process in which many have helped. At the beginning of the planning process, the community not only involved the building architect but also the outdoor facilities planner from the very beginning. Many discussions with the administration, kindergarten management, parent representatives and the planners took place in order to obtain an optimum of possible uses and design.

So the transition from building to garden and the reference and accessibility were of high importance. In the design, the same or similar materials and colours were used for the building and the outdoor facilities. With the atrium and the planted building incisions, light and a piece of garden were integrated into the building. Functional connections and visual relationships were created. For example, the level and handicapped accessible access from all group rooms into the garden. Or in front of the work room, which is also used as a "Kneipp room" for treading water, ground-covering perennials were used, which can also be stepped on for dew. The common goal was to create attractive and interesting play opportunities. A nature experience play space in which playfully all the senses are promoted.

The joint achievement was also recognized in the professional world and the children's house was awarded in 2011 with the "best architects 12" Award.

To realize together
Among the many involved in the overall work are also the parents, grandparents, the educator team and other volunteers who have created at the wood workshop for a week in addition to the play ship, the mud facility, the climbing elements such as slope grate and climbing logs and still the benches for the "little ones". During the week, more than 60 volunteers worked together and provided a total of more than 350 hours of voluntary work, ultimately for the children.
In the run-up to the wood workshop, ideas of the parents and educators, in the form of a moderation duchgeführte by the landscape architect, were determined and integrated into the planning. Likewise, the organization and (co-)management of the wood workshop was taken over by the landscape architect.
