Taking the neighboring dune landscape along the Baltic coast as a starting point, we designed a low-maintenance garden for this vacation home that develops strongly from its context and yet is unique as a private garden. The topography with different dunes not only gives the garden its character but creates different private spaces for the owners and the vacation guests without physical barriers like fences and hedges. For the materiality and plant selection, the project borrows from the local materiality. However, the recycled granite stones are installed as cut heads, creating a distinct difference from the otherwise rustic-looking stones in the village landscape. Corten steel is used for fixtures such as wheel hoops and bollard lights, as well as the edges of the flower beds.
