Perhaps due to the relatively small budget, this project placed particular emphasis on two elements of campus design: Stormwater management and the involvement of parents, educators, and children in both design and implementation. All stormwater from surfaces and rooftops is infiltrated through planted swales. These swales, along with excavated material from the site, have been designed into a variety of play areas. Overall, only the minimum amount of land will be sealed. Therefore, large areas of grass paving slabs are also used for the fire fighting areas. A large part of the furniture, the play equipment and the fences were developed together with the pupils and also built in the handicraft lessons.
