A new, car-free residential area with a special view of the Zugspitze has been created in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The aim was not only to offer the 11 new residential buildings high-quality living areas, but also to reflect the atmosphere of the area. A rough, natural design concept, inspired by rocks and the topographical depth effect, runs through the area. Differently staggered paving in combination with free-growing hedges create the desired spatiality and open up three neighborhood squares to provide space for play and relaxation, while at the same time creating privacy for the gardens.
