The site is intersected in the middle by the southern Cologne marginal canal, which is about 5 metres deep. The tree-lined main development axis was placed in this zone free of cultivation and extended in the intersection area with the inner development path to form a neighbourhood square with loosely placed Gleditsia solitary trees.
A conscious decision was made not to use orthogonal lines, so that new perspectives and interesting, varied spatial sequences are constantly opened up.
