The spa park of the Eisenmoorbad in Bad Schmiedeberg was created in the 19th century and is now the center of the town's spa life. The spa town has since been certified in three areas of spa and therapeutic treatment: as a mud spa, mineral spa and Kneipp spa. This state recognition was made possible not least by the large number of attractive open spaces that fit into an overall spatial picture.

GFSL has been involved in the development of this spacious park since the 1990s. The path system of the spa park was restructured to make it barrier-free. The "backbone" is formed by the extended spa promenade, which connects all parts of the park as the main path axis. Highlights include the Kurplatz, the concert garden at the Kurhaus with event stage, the rose garden and the spa playground. Plantings with diverse color and flowering aspects characterize the overall picture. The trees and historical structure were largely preserved during the renovation.

In 2000, the state of Saxony-Anhalt initiated a hitherto unique project: On behalf of the approximately 1,000 garden monuments in the state, the most beautiful and significant sites were selected and brought together in the Garden Dreams - Historical Parks in Saxony-Anhalt network. The Bad Schmiedeberg spa gardens are Gartentraum Park 37.
