As part of the Innovation Campus construction project, around 9,000 sqm of open spaces were designed around the new building, both within the company and accessible to the public. The leitmotif of the concept for the outdoor space is the sound wave. From the entrance to the Innovation Campus, sound waves spread radially outwards at regular intervals. They are reflected in clear spatial structures, paved surfaces, large-scale perennial plantings and furnishing elements.
Green decks in front of the conference rooms, which can be used as recreation areas, follow the direction of the waves and push into the open space. In their staggering, they also take up the height development of the building. Around 12,000 perennials provide an almost year-round flowering aspect.
On the forecourt of the Innovation Campus, radially running stainless steel bands trace the course of the sound waves. A special feature is the elliptical "disturbance zone" with the narrow wooden deck, which interrupts the uniform propagation of the waves and in whose shadow the beds become visible as a structural change. With the water feature on the forecourt, accents are set all year round.
