In February 2008, the town of Leinefelde carried out a workshop procedure to redesign the entrance area of the Leinefelde stadium with the aim of linking the Leinefelde stadium with the Leinebad and integrating it into Luna Park.

The basis for the redesign of the entrance situation is formed by the sloped bank towards the stadium entrance, the terrace and a staircase between the Leinebad entrance and the stadium, which acts as a connecting link. The open space planning should consider and provide for options for later changes of use. In particular, the intensification of the gastronomic offer and the creation of a sports hotel should be taken into account.

The entrance square forms the barrier-free entrance to the stadium with a gradient of 5%. Slabs made of cast stone structure the area. The approx. 3m drop to the terrace is intercepted by a retaining wall. The wall was designed typographically and tells of the sports of the very active local sports club. Light steles also set the scene for the square in the evening hours.

The parking lot was designed for major events. Despite difficult ground conditions, all of the rainwater from the outdoor facilities is drained away decentrally. This made it possible to dispense with the construction of new sewers and make a valuable contribution to soil and water protection.

As a defining design element, a clipped copper beech hedge borders the northern area of the stadium towards the public space and parking lot.

The parking lot and its path system form the transition to the Luna Park, which in turn is an important element in the green axis running through the town of Leinefelde.
