Ortenau Klinikum Achern - Competition, 2nd prize with LUDES Architects - Engineers Ltd.

The entry for the competition 'Ortenau Klinikum Achern' was awarded 2nd prize among 15 entries in the Europe-wide competition. The proposed basic urban structure provides a clear framework for the future development of the site. The northern prelude is formed by the forecourt, which extends between the clinic, the medical centre and the new access road, leads into the area and functions as a distributor. Lively green structures, consisting of meadow areas with loosely arranged trees and shrubs, run through the entire area as lifelines and connecting elements, linking the different areas with each other and providing orientation. They create a flowing transition between the forecourt, parking area, car parks and buildings and hold the overall structure together.
