The clear and orthogonal structure of the clinic campus makes the urban planning system easy to read and provides orientation. Linear rows of trees support the parcelling of the campus and guide through the clinic area. The main square expands in the central area of the campus, is clearly defined and is framed by the surrounding building edges. Important axes and open space elements form openings in the overall urban system and symbolize connections. Based on the existing landscape features and the urban development connecting points, various open space components are integrated into the area, which hold the overall structure together and create quality. Between the settlement structures, a structurally rich landscape space expands, which is in dialogue with the neighbouring villages, the hospital campus and the industrial estate and which offers a valuable fabric of diverse living spaces and recreational areas. With the orientation of its landscape elements, the green corridor forms an exciting contrast to the orthogonally oriented clinic campus.
Three 'landscape brackets' hold the landscape space and the building structure of the clinic campus together like a bracket and interlock the functions and design elements with each other. The brackets form central areas in the open space system, set accents and integrate the surrounding landscape into the clinic campus. The result is a varied picture of elements that merge into one another and allow for the interplay of different functions. The water surfaces widen and natural areas are created that function as wetland biotopes and take on an ecological retreat function. At the same time, the landscape brackets provide recreational areas for patients, staff, visitors and residents.
