The axes and paths, as a linear basic structure, divide the park into three east-west oriented zones: Residential area (show area LGS 2008), sports and leisure band and meadow area at the Schlei. The linking axes are complemented by two generous curved paths, the Plessenweg and the Uferweg.
Tree axes, tree grids as groves and solitary trees create different spaces on the Königswiesen. Open and wide spaces as well as closed and dense spaces. According to the zoning city park landscape the planting changes from landscape shrubs to selected cultivated plants. The choice of trees also corresponds to the uses of the park, in spring the recreation areas are dominated by white blossoms. In autumn all the woody plants change to a strong red
In the framework of lines and spaces the uses of the park are inserted like inlays. Connected to paths and axes, separated and surrounded by trees, a variety of functions are integrated into the park in accordance with the Volkspark concept. In the sports and play area there are one large and two small playing fields, a golf course and a running track.
