The aim is to tidy up the street space and to calm it down in terms of design. This is implemented by reducing street furniture and furnishing elements and compressing them at selected locations. The public space will be made equally usable for all visitors to the old town, taking into account the greatest possible accessibility. This leads to a sustainable increase in the quality of stay. Continuous granite paving defines the old town floor as a homogeneous surface. The fountain remains in its place and is accentuated with a frieze in the city floor. Otherwise, new tree plantings are deliberately avoided in the sense of the stony old town, with the exception of a tree canopy on the fruit market.
